Last week in our sermon about Psalm 116 we learned how God makes it easy to love him.
This week as we consider moving forward on that mindset to love God; what does a relationship with God look like?
Sometimes having a relationship with God is strange and unique to us because we don't always know how to be in relationship with God.
Most of us have relationship ideas given to us by our families of origin.
The way our family interacted with one another is how we often approach all relationships.
Therefore many families, marriages, and even church relationships are strained because we do relationships based on how we were raised.
God is the creator of relationship; since God is the creator of relationship it would only make sense to consult and follow His word when it comes to relationships.
The best way to work in human relationships is to develop our relationship with God and see how God wants us to be in relationship with Him.
Let me say that again: when we seek to be in relationship with God it must be based on how God wants us to be in relationship with Him.
In other words, God is always right when it comes to how we should be in relationship with Him…not us.
Today I want to give you 4 practical insights on how to be in relationship with God based on James E Smith's commentary on psalms.
These four qualities of God are as follows: God is omniscient, God is omnipresent, God is omnipotent, and God is omnirighteous.
These four traits of God will give you 4 practical insights to be in relationship with God and others.
