How the Holy Spirit works in us to be sinless & sin less
You cannot read Romans 8 without first spending some time in Roman 7.
We have the past two Sundays been working through Romans 7 and there is one pivotal verse that Paul speaks about in Roman 7.
Wretched man that I am!
Who will set me free from the body of this death? Romans 7:24
We get the impression from the apostle Paul that he contends with his own person; he is troubled by how he behaves and how he doesn't behave.
He calls himself a wretched man and we discovered through last week’s message all of us are wretched on the inside.
Our wretchedness comes from our struggle.
We struggle to do what is right and we struggle to do good.
Paul’s exclamation to wanting to be set free from his body helps us understand that he is justly condemned.
Unless Paul gets rid of his sinful flesh, heart, and mind he will be condemned to an eternal death when he physically dies.
This is what makes Romans 8: 1 such a breath of fresh air not only in this chapter but in everyday life.
