Passage: Genesis 1:1-2

Speaker: jeff blaine

In some strange way knowing our beginning gives us a sense of security.
Security can be described as a self-assurance, a confidence, or a sense of safety
We as humans have this mindset or drive to want to know our origin or our beginning.
It even happens in our day-to-day conversations; When you meet somebody new, what is one of the first things you ask them?
“Where are you from?”
It seems as if that when you know where you are from it helps you understand who you are & where you are…
Many of us know our family history and that history gives us a sense of confidence in who we are and why we do what we do.
All of us to some degree have a sense of purpose, good or bad, based on our family history or past.
Ultimately, you can trace each one of our beginnings back to The Beginning found in Genesis 1…this is significant.
Here's the point I'm trying to make: to study the beginning of all things is to have a better sense of who you are because of who God is.
