Hypocrisy is one of those words buzzwords that really resonated with me years ago.
Hypocrites in church was the main reason I used for an excuse in not coming to Jesus.
My focus was on people and their hypocrisy versus my own sin.
Once again, we are at the feet of the apostle Paul and he is teaching us about the church in Rome.
Specifically, Paul is addressing those people who know God's word and are supposed to live according to God's word but don't.
His teaching today shares with us the reality of what it looks like to be a hypocrite in the church that Jesus died for.
We literally get to see a list of behaviors that hypocrites display; the benefit of this list is that it allows us to repent of those behaviors that would place us in the hypocrite end zone.
These are the traits of a hypocrite in the Church of Jesus Christ.
