The Bible says “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”
What does it mean to have a fear of the Lord?
If we unpack the context of Proverbs 9:10 there are multiple positive consequences in having a biblical fear of the Lord.
Let's read that entire verse together:
“the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy one is understanding.”
In just one verse we recognize there are some valuable things in fearing the Lord.
To fear the Lord is to have wisdom; how many of you want to be a wise person that makes wise decisions?
To fear the Lord is to have understanding and knowledge of God; how many of you want to have a greater knowledge and understanding of God?
