Jesus continues to be an amazing teacher…this week is no different.
As we wrap of our time with Lazarus today…Jesus continues to use death to teach us how to live
What does it mean to really live?
We determined that last week…to really live is to not fear death
Jesus came to set us free from the fear of death & free us from the one that kept us enslaved by that fear
The Fear of death can also be translated into something that’s less obvious…fear of loss.
Death will bring about loss
Loss is something that we no longer have
When you die your body has a loss of life
Often when we lose something in life we can see it as a sense of loss or in some ways something has died.
Loss of relationship means a sense of death has happened in that relationship
Death in relationships is incredibly challenging to us…I don’t mean physical death.
Death seems to creep into our relationships when we no longer have that relationship that meant a lot to us.
A conflict took that relationship away.
Another relationship took that relationship away.
A job change, a move, unforeseen circumstances…
Death is something we all face but not just in the sense that people physically die…
Death has invaded our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, & actions.
Here is something that will help us all as we move forward in this story today: death is not final.
