John is trying to relate to us the person he loves the most…the person he experienced in the presence of Jesus.

So this fits well with our theme for 2020…Jesus first place in everything…John begins to share with us more than the physical Jesus

 John shares with us the reality of experiencing the spiritual Jesus

 John is sharing with us the unseen, yet real, love of Jesus experienced by his daily interactions with Jesus

 So how does John do this?

Jesus is the Word…the Word became flesh & lived among us…who is the Word?

The Word is Jesus.
