I think about it more than ever…falling.
It might not have happened yet for you but it will…the fear of falling.
When i walk downstairs or upstairs or in the woods or on a carpet; the fear of falling has slowed me down.
I desire to make my every step certain, every step firm, & before I put my full weight on my next step make sure that foot is established squarely where it needs to be…but life doesn’t afford me such luxuries…or does it?
Read Psalm 37:23-24
Some have speculated that David was allowed to pen this Psalm when he was an older man…Was an older David concerned about his steps like I’m concerned about mine?
I’m not sure that David was concerned about his physical walk as much as he was concerned about his spiritual walk with our Father.
David didn’t know Jesus but knew our heavenly Father
How can we tell?
v. 23 David has experience with God making firm his steps
v. 23 David has experience with God delighting in those firmed up & established steps that David is taking every day
v. 24 David understands that in his spiritual walk he will stumble but won’t fall headlong into sin like he did as a young man
v. 24 David knows that when he stumbles our Father will be there to hold his hand to keep him upright.
Since David has experience in this walk then what does this walk look like that God delights in?
As we let our God firm up our steps in everyday life…those steps will give God delight…what do those steps look like?
